Fundraising

Michigan’s Dragon at Hardy Dam has secured all of the funds needed to finish trail construction is September of 2024.  We thank all our generous donors and partners for making this project financially possible.

Maintaining a world-class 45-mile-long trail is a monumental painting and financial task; please consider supporting the future of the dragon by making a donation; please do so by clicking on the donate tab at the top of the webpage!

Volunteers

A project of this size cannot happen without dedicated volunteers. The West Michigan Mountain Biking Alliance (WMMBA) has stepped up to support and coordinate trail volunteers. The WMMBA will be responsible for routine trail inspections and maintenance. WMMBA is developing a comprehensive volunteer program that matches experienced volunteers with developing volunteers to keep the trail in optimum condition. In addition, the WMMBA volunteers are highly skilled with trail maintenance and will assist Newaygo and Mecosta Counties with routine maintenance and repairs of the trail. The WMMBA is overseeing all volunteer patrols and maintenance on the trail.

How to get involved

As of September 2024, we transitioned from construction mode to maintenance mode with the leadership of the WMMBA! WMMBA needs your help to maintain and patrol this unique trail. If you want to join the WMMBA and their Dragon Team, please join at WMMBA.ORG or e-mail president@wmmba.org. Volunteer opportunities include trail coordinator, trail section adopters, and volunteering at trail workdays during construction and after opening. Trail Volunteer workdays will be posted on the WMMBA web page and on Facebook @ https://www.facebook.com/wmmba.org/
